I had only recently realised 2Raumwohnung was Inga Humpe's current project (of Swimming With Sharts, with her sister), so hunted down some reasonably priced copies of a few albums after checking samples. Whilst " Im Wirklich" and "Morgen" are really growing on me, with their distinct brand of euro-pop, this remix of their debut leaves me wanting more - erm - vocals.A few of the mixes are pretty good, including the opener (by the band) and both mixes of Sexy Girl are quite fun (and very different in approach) but later mixes are almost entirely instrumental, with just the odd looped sample of Inga and very little of the original instrumentation to recognise. I guess they are very much of their time (2002 original release) and whilst aimed at a very different audience than the original album, most are too sparse to hold attention anywhere than maybe in a club (in 2002!). I'm hoping some of the others will grow over further plays, but suspect not....If you like the original material I would suggest hunting down as many long samples as you can before making up your mind to buy this album. However I would recommend their first 3 albums, and also the 'Remixe' album of Grad36, if you like a more clubby edge, as its far more recent and works better when compared with its source material.
